Over 150 countries and other areas participate in the Fulbright Specialist Program.
Please find below a list of the current countries and other areas, including intergovernmental organizations, that are eligible to participate in the Fulbright Specialist Program. To access the website of the Fulbright Commission or U.S. Embassy that currently oversees the program in a given location, simply find the appropriate region and click on the name of the country or area.
Please note that Fulbright Commissions or Public Affairs Sections of U.S. Embassies oversee the initial review and selection of proposals to host a Fulbright Specialist. Accordingly, foreign institutions interested in hosting a Fulbright Specialist should contact the Fulbright Commission or U.S. Embassy in their country or area for information about the application process and access to the online application portal.
Each Fulbright Commission or U.S. Embassy determines processes for recruitment and selection of local project proposals, including establishing any deadlines for proposal submission or timelines for initial proposal selection.
